These Wedding/Honeymoon Destinations Will Blow Your Mind

If you’re planning an overseas wedding or honeymoon, you’re in the right place. In this article, we’re going to take a look at some of the best destinations around the world for you and your new spouse to kick back, relax, and look forward to a lifetime together. (You’re excited, right?)

Please note, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill destinations. Instead, they’re places where you can enjoy true isolation and freedom before you have to go back to reality and get on with your regular life. Check out some of our favorite awe-inspiring places:

Walk The Serene Beaches Of Fiji

Fiji is a cluster of small islands in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, famous for being one of the remotest destinations on the planet. The country, however, is replete with tasteful, luxury retreats that will totally blow your socks off. A week here is utterly different from, say a week spent in Benidorm. You’re not packed like sausages, one room next to each other, as you are in many resorts around the world. You always get your own beach house or bedroom suite, with plenty of space for you and your love to enjoy the happiest time of your life.

Fiji is home to the Mamanuca Islands, which famously featured in the Tom Hanks film Castaway. Being 1,300 north of New Zealand, it also has its own coral reefs just offshore where you can explore snorkeling and canoeing.

Fiji gives you a feeling of absolute isolation, but it is not a lonely place. Instead, its remoteness is reassuring and relaxing. There’s a chilled vibe, making it the ideal location for long walks along the beach and evenings spent chatting over a good meal.

The Amalfi Coast In Italy

Italy is one of the most romantic destinations on the planet, thanks partly to the Amalfi Coast. This small strip of land located in the Campania region is so beautiful that it attracts an estimated five million visitors per year.

If you love the idea of strolling through majestic countryside with your spouse or hosting a wedding with a thousand-foot cliff as a backdrop, this is the place to go. The land here soars out of the water high into the air. And thick, lush vegetation covers all the hillsides, creating picturesque views everywhere you look.

Santorini - A Paradise In Greece

Before the blogging revolution, relatively few people had heard of Santorini - a small Greek Island in the Aegean Sea. Now, though, the entire world has become obsessed with the place, thanks to its unique architecture and blue-capped, whitewash buildings.

The main town on Santorini has the same feel as an adventure playground or theme park. The place is hewn into the side of a cliff. So it has space constraints and verticality - both of which inform the design of the urban environment. Stairs flow in all directions along the backstreets, as they weave between homes, trickling like ladders up and down the hill.

The island is probably better set up for honeymoons than weddings, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out hosting a ceremony here. It will certainly accommodate hundreds of people out of town or in one of the many churches.

Saint Lucia - A Luxurious Caribbean Getaway

Saint Lucia is set up better than most Caribbean islands to cater for wedding ceremonies, owing to its many hotels and venues. However, it is more famous as a place couples go in the days and weeks after tying the knot.

A Saint Lucia honeymoon is fundamentally different from trips to other places. It features all of the usual trappings, such as the sandy beaches and lush mountains. But it also offers a bunch of new attractions, including Diamond Fall Botanical Gardens, Sulphur Springs Park, and The Pitons. Furthermore, the overseas wealth brought to the country means that it now hosts hospitality services to rival any in the west.

You and your newlywed can enjoy a relaxing afternoon together in a geothermal pool, take hikes in the mountains, and get a mud bath.

Adventure In Kauai

Kauai is part of the Hawaii island chain, several thousand miles off the west coast of North America. The great thing about this destination is that it seems to offer something for every couple. There are beaches galore here, allowing you to take long strolls with your partner, as well as plenty of opportunities for adventure.

Kauai has some impressive geological features too. You can kayak the Wailua River, hike through the Waimea Canyon and explore the delights of the Napali Coast. The island is replete with scenic views, offering plenty of opportunities to soak in the beauty of nature, practically wherever you turn.

Enjoy A City Break In Florence

We’re back in Italy again, and this time, the city of Florence. Florence isn’t just another Italian town - it is famous all over the world for its beautiful cuisine, art scene, and a history stretching back thousands of years.

Modern-day Florence is a labyrinth of city streets and beautiful parks. There’s so much to explore here; you’ll never get bored. And it is perfect for people who want to enjoy lots of different experiences during their trip. After gawping at Michelangelo’s David, you can trot off for a gelato at one of the city’s many ice cream stands.

Spend A Long Weekend In Paris

Paris - also known as the City of Light - is the quintessential wedding and honeymoon destination. The city is famous for being among the most beautiful in the world in the center and plays host to the best of French culture.

Visiting Paris is a delight for the senses. Once you’ve finished with the Jardin des Tuileries, you can move onto the Musée du Louvre and view some of the world’s most beautiful works of art.

The French capital offers so much for lovers, allowing you to soak up the very best that European culture has to offer. Don’t forget to watch the Eiffel Tower light up at night.

Which of these wedding or honeymoon locations sounds the most magical to you?
