Willow's Six Month Photo Shoot

This post was originally published on our old blog Born to be a Bride.

Cristina Lee Photography has done it again. Josh and I were thrilled when we booked a lifestyle shoot to mark Willow’s six-month birthday. I can’t believe half a year has already passed, and I know the second half will move even more quickly. The more Willow grows and changes, the greater my gratitude for photographs. And let’s face it, my iPhone snaps aren’t enough.

I had a moment of hesitation about this shoot because we aren’t fully moved into our new home and the nursery isn’t “just-so.” I don’t even have a crib skirt I like, so the bed is just kind of sitting there. But as Cristina and I discussed, these pictures reflect the truth of our current moment, missing cribskirt and all. Perhaps I don’t typically sit around on Willow’s floor in a little black dress, but the rest is pretty authentic. Here’s a peek:

Outfit details from top: Willow’s first dress was my grandmother’s and then my mothers. Her second dress (and the matching bonnet) were the ensemble I wore home from the hospital. Willow’s gold bangle was a gift from a family member. The gold heart headband was handmade by me and you can find it in my Etsy shop. Willow’s little black dress is from Gymboree and the accompanying white-and-gold floppy bow is by Carol & Grace, another Etsy shop. I’m wearing a black cotton dress by Velvet that I inadvertently discovered during this shoot is conducive breastfeeding on-the-go. My shoes are by Cole Haan.
