Getting married abroad is a way to really indulge. Maybe you have an affinity with the place you want to get married. Or you’re looking for perfect weather. There are a myriad of reasons for trying the knot abroad but the real question is where are you going to do it. You might be thinking about what to pack, but getting a location nailed down as soon as you can means you’ll know what kinds of clothes to pack up and take. These locations are all wonderful for marriage, and they can give you an idea of the kinds of places out there. Think hard on it, weigh up the costings and see what your other half is thinking. You also need to book well in advance so your friends and family can book the right time off work and won’t double book.
Rome
City with weather, culture, beauty, and everything in between. There are some lovely places you can get married in Rome. It can get a bit oppressive in Summer though, but Spring is beautiful. Flowers bloom leaving Rome in a sea of colour. Besides, you might get cheaper deals in the Spring. There are some great planners and photographers too, like Andrea Matone. There are wonderful landmarks like the Forum, Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum for you to make use of. Remember, the Italian countryside is stunning too. So you could incorporate both into your wedding plans. It’s a supremely popular location though so you’re going to want to look at booking it as soon as your plans are in a solid state. At least get the venue deposit down.
Greek Islands
The choice here is again wonderful. Each island offers something a little different, and the wide range of them means there’s unlikely to be problems with getting a hotel or venue on shorter notice. It can be pricey, so make sure you do your research beforehand. They offer culture in buckets. Both medieval and ancient history is everywhere you look. Whether you choose somewhere popular like Santorini or a bit off the tourist train in Naxos or Paros, the islands can provide you with endless delights and guaranteed summer weather. You can tailor this too, some islands are hotter than others so depending on taste you can scale.
Caribbean
An instant classic, though one you may need to book up years in advance. The pristine white beaches and blue water are luscious places to get married. All with five star hotels and resorts to go with it. You can tie your wedding into a honeymoon if you’d like. Be it an island hopping adventure or a luxury cruise. You can even pop over to florida and visit the theme parks like Disney and Universal. Again, it’s pricey, but you can scale this as necessary, there are a ton of add-ons you can purchase or omit. Try getting a few different quotes too and playing the resorts against each other. If you’re up to it you’ll save money booking direct too without using a firm or wedding planner, though you need to have the time to invest if you’re going to go down this route.
