Saying Goodbye to the Mess with Neato

As many of you know, I am not just a blogger and book author but also the mom of three kids aged seven and under. Being a mother is both the most rewarding and challenging thing I have ever done. They cheer me up, they wear me down, and they’re only going to live here and be kids for a little while. I want to enjoy it!

Like many of you, I feel a constant push-pull, and most of it comes from the housework. I do the lion’s share of the cleaning as my husband works outside the home and that’s how our schedule operates. But man, am I surrounded by messes. It often feels like I work harder to keep up with the house than I do to be a focused and attentive mom — and to be honest, that gets me down.

With a 70-pound mutt named Harry who sheds enough to knit a sweater a day of his fallen fur, a toddler who takes his snacks on the run, and two busy little girls who love glitter, sprinkles, and “helping” me in the kitchen, I typically end up sweeping, vacuuming, and then mopping at least once a day plus all the hand-vacuuming emergencies in between.

Mama’s tired.

Enter Neato.

The Neato Robotics D10 robotic vacuum is the kind of game changer this exhausted mommy needed. We actually have owned two different robot vacuums from other companies in the past and neither one cut it. I had heard good things about this vacuum but had no idea until I received the package and opened it, just how much this was going to change things.

First the packaging is sleek, beautifully done, and ready to rock. The app takes seconds to download and set up, and your Neato is off to the races. (Or the cookie crumbs, as it were). Neato doesn’t just buzz and flash if there’s an issue; you receive a verbal description of any blockages, terrain problems, or need to recharge. I can control the Neato easily from my phone or just push start on the machine itself.

The other thing that sets this robot vacuum apart is its handling and self orientation. My kids and I were literally blown away watching it trace corners, edges, and go around curves so no inch of our floors were left untouched by its powerful suction.

Even an hour after mopping, Neato picked up crumbs and hairs I hadn’t seen. Cleaning and changing the filter is a breeze and the machine is easy to operate with a small base that can be moved from room to room.

I was skeptical of robotic vaccines after having poor experiences with our brands, but I’m a total convert now. In the days and months ahead I hope you’ll check out my videos and photos of Neato in action on Instagram @ourlifeinrosegold so you can get the full scope of how awesome this product really is.

I don’t recommend anything on this blog that my family and I don’t use and love. I can already tell that Neato and I are going to have a long and happy life together. Isn’t it time you gave yourself the gift of clean floors?
