My First Mother's Day: Born to be a Bride

I think it’s engrained in me to always think about nails on Monday mornings. Something about a fresh start to the week and a fresh hue to get you through it. I don’t know. “Mani Monday” just has a lovely ring to it. With a little girl in tow, I don’t get my nails done (or do them at home) as much as I’d like to, but when the opportunity arises, I pounce. Yesterday was one such. After a glorious brunch, we took an ice cream stroll and then headed back home to our new digs to let the baby nap. Josh sent me out for a manicure and pedicure that was much-needed.

My nails are recovering from my last gel, so I opted for a regular mani. But in an effort to make it last, I decided to try Vinylux. My sister-in-law swears by it for long-lasting color without the price and potential damage of a gel. Even though it doesn’t claim to dry faster than typical polish, I was ready to leave the salon about ten minutes after it was done. The color I chose, Lockets of Love, is a nice even gold with a rich metallic finish. I’ll report back on how long it lasts, but so far I’m pretty pleased.

What did everyone do for Mother’s Day? I hope you all had a fabulous day with your moms, little ones, or friends who feel like family!
