It doesn’t take a genius to figure out I love getting myself (and more importantly, Willow) dressed in the mornings. Weekdays are our alone time. I work while she naps (ha!), we do mommy-and-me Pilates and barre classes, take long walks by the water, read stories, and sing songs. She’s got a ton of super-cute duds we put on for mini photoshoots, but on the weekends when Josh is around, getting dressed is even more enjoyable because we go on lots of little adventures together. Here are some of our mommy-and-me moments from the past few weekends of family fun:
Willow’s first Hamptons beach weekend was in July. She looked super-adorbs in all pink and blue. I love this Ralph Lauren hoodie t-shirt because it’s light enough for summer days but adds extra sun or wind protection in lieu of a sunhat. Naturally, she’s wearing a sun hat anyway. This one is from Pottery Barn Kids.
As for mommy-and-me, that weekend we were slant-twinning in print suits. I liked the graphic black-and-white of mine (American Apparel) against her orange bikini (Target). But my baby wasn’t really into the water and I wanted to protect her precious skin, so she was covered up soon after we took this picture.
Great rule for coordinating with your mini: you don’t always have to match. I just want to be sure that if a photo is snapped of Wills and me, our outfits won’t clash. Here, I was wearing a simple green-and-white striped tee from Saint James paired with destroyed Levi’s boyfriend jeans. I added a pink and cream Nommies by Mommy necklace to tie in the pinks of Willow’s outfit. She is wearing a rope tie halo by Scarlett Baby, organic bunny leggings from Belbambinos, and an awesome screen-printed onesie that was a gift from a friend and I’m sadly unsure of the brand. (If you know it, please email me and I’ll update the post). The idea here is a relaxed yet polished vibe. Her mustard Trumpette socks are a nice play on the olive in my tee.
Yep, so I’m all about that Hug Life and Willow is, too. I smartly ordered her onesie in mint so it will be versatile enough to be worn by a little boy if we have one next (NO, we are not planning to expand our family any time soon!) but I also ordered 12-month size so she’s got to wait it out a little. In the meantime, I’ve been rocking my tank and have laid out a few real-life ensembles for Wills that include the tee. I love this simple and sweet message and the cotton is such high-quality. (It bears mentioning that I also own a Mug Life tee, and plan to buy more from the brand for fall.)
Yesterday we had some afternoon fun amid a slew of angry tears (Willow is teething or tired or growing or grumpy or something, but she perked up later in the day before crashing)… we suited her up in a Target swim cap (available in stores) and an Honest swim diaper to act out my current gel polish color, Creekside by CND. One day I hope to create some kind of a fun album out of these nail polish stills. For now, you can find them all on Instagram under #willownailedit — we will be rolling out lots more soon!
