The best thing about being engaged is not the wedding planning, as much fun as all of that is. It’s not the parties or the champagne or the presents or even the shopping and flipping through bridal mags and being toasted by your friends. The best thing about being engaged is sitting next to your fiancee on the couch in a pair of sweatpants and realizing that you are the luckiest girl in the world because you are marrying this incredible person.
Yesterday, mine made me feel more special than ever when he declared it Jensy Day and we did everything I wanted. From an outdoor brunch at a favorite local spot to hours of schlepping up and down the mall and even a stop at Michael’s for some wedding-related craft items on my list, it was epic. We laughed, he drove too fast, we bought new sunglasses and picked out the final stocking stuffers for my family. In short, it was a perfect day, and not only because I made all the plans.
Last night as it grew dark and the fun was drawing to a close, I looked up at my cute fiancee from my crafting spot on the floor and watched him, tool in hand, bent over my latest project ensuring it won’t fall apart. My heart swelled as I thought about what a great partnership we have and how special he is to me. And then, because he knows me better than I know myself, he looked up and asked if I wanted to go to PinkBerry.
Um, does it get any better than that?
